Scottish Rugby Union AGM

The SRU AGM was held today (Saturday 27th June, 2009) and was attended by the Club President and Vice President.

The Board reported that the SRU was making progress both financially and in the playing area, following on from Scotland As victory in the 2009 Nations Cup. They did however recognise that the National XV still need to do better and this was reflected in our recent showing in the British Lions squad and the Six Nations.

Jimmy Stevenson of Cambuslang was reelected as President of the SRU and the Club would like to extend their congratulations to him.

Another key decision was that the league system currently employed will remain in place, however, the Cup competition will change next year with three cups being played for at three different levels. Dalziel will paly their competition against the other National League clubs on a straight knockout basis.
