6 Nations 2012 Scotland Squad

Post by niall » Thu Jan 05, 2012 1:28 pm

Scotland squad for the six nations has been announced. From the 36 players below what would your starting XV (and subs) for the England game on the 4th of February? Person with the closest team wins some sort of prize (probably a pint in the clubhouse...), say 1 point for in the squad, 2 points for correct position? Max 44 points (theoretical minimum of 8 ).

Backs: Joe Ansbro (London Irish), Mike Blair (Edinburgh Rugby), Chris Cusiter (Glasgow Warriors), Simon Danielli (Ulster), Nick De Luca (Edinburgh Rugby), Max Evans (Castres), Stuart Hogg, Ruaridh Jackson (both Glasgow Warriors), Lee Jones, Greig Laidlaw (both Edinburgh Rugby), Rory Lamont (Glasgow Warriors), Sean Lamont (Scarlets), Rory Lawson (Gloucester), Graeme Morrison (Glasgow Warriors), Dan Parks (Cardiff Blues), Steven Shingler (London Irish) and Duncan Weir (Glasgow Warriors)

Forwards: John Barclay (Glasgow Warriors), Kelly Brown (Saracens), Geoff Cross, David Denton (both Edinburgh Rugby), Alasdair Dickinson (Sale Sharks), Ross Ford (Edinburgh Rugby), Richie Gray, Dougie Hall (both Glasgow Warriors), Jim Hamilton (Gloucester), Robert Harley (Glasgow Warriors), Allan Jacobsen (Edinburgh Rugby), Alastair Kellock (Glasgow Warriors), Scott Lawson (Gloucester), Moray Low (Glasgow Warriors), Fraser McKenzie (Sale Sharks), Euan Murray (Newcastle Falcons), Ross Rennie (Edinburgh Rugby), Alasdair Strokosch (Gloucester) and Richie Vernon (Sale Sharks).

1.Chunk 2 Ford 3 Murray 4 Kellock 5 Gray 6 Brown 7 Rennie 8 Vernon 9 Cusiter 10 Jackson 11 Danielli 12 De Luca 13 Ansbro 14 Evans 15 R Lamont
16 S Lawson 17 Low 18 Hamilton 19 Barclay 20 R Lawson 21 Weir 22 Morrison

No 8 looks like being a bit of a problem. Equally Fullback. Would like to see Denton getting a shot but don't think it'll happen for the English game.
Would also like to bin Ford and Jackson but think he'll stick with these 2.
Good to see young Fraser McKenzie getting a bite think he'll be good news.

This won`t be Robinsons team but the15 I would pick 1.Chunk 2 Ford 3 Murray 4 Kellock 5 Gray 6 Harley 7 Brown 8 Fraser McKenzie 9. Chris Cusiter 10. Duncan Weir 11 Max Evans 12 Steven Shingler 13 Joe Ansbro 14. Lamont 15 Stuart Hogg ,Moray Low, Geoff Cross,Dougie Hall
Jim Hamilton, John Barclay, Greig Laidlaw,Lamont

The forwards have always won enough ball we need backs that can use it.

I would have Beattie at 8 but he is not in the squad ???
