At the 2nd XV Forum on 2nd June, Dalziel RFC received yet another trophy for the (phantom) trophy cabinet when Vice President Khalid Faqir received the award of the Friendliest Club in Scotland, as voted by the Reserve Team Forum.
Throughout this season we have received many accolades and awards, mostly associated with individuals or teams (apart from Club of the Month) but this award goes to the whole of the Club, players, supporters and those helping out on Saturday afternoons who make visiting teams welcome, provide a friendly greeting and put the fun back into rugby at all levels.
So everyone should take a bow for this one. Well done to all.

Just to add, the award is The Ian Wallace Memorial Trophy and is awarded to a club for outstanding committement to Reserve League Rugby......the reason given for awarding it to Dalziel was that we are widely regarded as the friendliest club in Scotland.
I have the trophy and a bottle of whiskey which I will bring to the AGM.
Well done to everyone, its good to know how highly the other clubs regard us
