So Invictus is out on Friday.

if you haven't heard about it, here's the synopsis:

Nelson Mandela, in his first term as the South African President, initiates a unique venture to unite the apartheid-torn land: enlist the national rugby team on a mission to win the 1995 Rugby World Cup

and the trailer:

Yeh, it actually looks really good, I was a little sceptical before seeing the trailer. Clint Eastwood did a really great job with the boxing film "Million Dollar Baby", so he might just have pulled this one off too  .

MDB had a lot of grit and spit which made it really believable, hopefully this is as good.

INVICTUS

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

Its a pretty good movie, but the rugby action is pretty lame, not up to other sports movies like 'Any Given Sunday'. Also the climax is the final which was all penalties, so no great rugby action to be seen there
