Players have been selected from the U15's, U16's and the U18's for the next Thistles specialist coaching camp in Perpignan for two weeks in June/July of 2008.
I'm hoping to establish this topic so that we can be sure who has been selected and can go, and to discuss fundraising opportunities as well as simply an opportunity for the lads to chat about this experience.
More to follow over the next weeks / months.

Once again Rod you are spot on the more lads that are involved in this from the club the better for our future prospects. The support from the club last year was outstanding for the lads involved in an extremely worthwhile and character building adventure and as a parent/coach well done and thank you
Cheers Steve

Letter from Glasgow Thistles Sports Club (GTSC), has confirmed the following names so far:
Scott Rodgers (2nds/3rds), Tom McGarrity (1sts).
John Harris, Gavin Smith, Kris Watters, Calum McGarrity, Ross Donnachie, Robert Johnstone, Antony Mitchell, Steven Mullin (U18's).
Matthew Crichton, Nathan Dewar, Andy Scott, Euan Watt (U16's).
I believe some of the U15's have also been selected but don't have confirmed names.
That's 14 so far to represent Dalziel out of the proposed 180 that are being selected from around Glasgow District.
Well done to all concerned.

Great to see as many lads from the club performing at this level. Dalziel youth system still producing the goods! Lets hope they all keep enjoying their rugby and start pushing for 1st XV places in the coming seasons!
On the evidence of the bounce game on saturday, I expect to see a few colts making their mark over the coming weeks!

yup I was on the wrong end of a coupla cheap shots and got stepped for a crackin try. If we can hold onto lots of these guys for a few years the future is bright.
In other news - Lee McWhinnie and John Harris are included in the squads so it might be even sooner than we think!

yeh i just saw that eddy, i hope the boys do well on saturday!
on that note is there anyone who could get scott rodgers' arse up to training? Dunno if he works or what but would be good to see him up. He's in the thistles, was in it last year, and is playing for the 3rds.
I've seen him play before and although i definately dont think he's a stand-off (where he's played a bit recently), i think he is certainly a 1st XV winger in the making!
Strong for his size, fast, tackles, good runner - i'm sure if he started training he'd be in the reckoning for the 1's in no time. Better than some that are playing 1's/2's IMO......

I am disappointed that there are no U16's selected. We had several in the Lanarkshire/Glasgow squad but have heard nothing from this group. Several players are easily selectable but, in the absence of trials or selectors viewing these guys playing, how do we get them selected?
