Congratulations go to:
John Harris, Callum McGarrity, Antony Mitchell and Kris Watters who have been selected for the next stage of squad selection. The squad is now down to 29 with a further cut to occur down to a match squad of 22 for the games in February.
Two full training sessions (11.30-14.00) took place yesterday and today (4th Jan) at CQP and Dalziel respectively.
I'll put up the dates for training and the games as soon as I can.
Niall do I need a seperate tab for the U17's to create fixtures?

Re: Glasgow District U17's
Unfortunately you can't put them in with our fixtures, this is something i'll add to the list to put into V2 of the site! I'll put something up on the main site in the news about it though.RodHar wrote:Niall do I need a seperate tab for the U17's to create fixtures?

Glasgow were narrowly beaten by Edinburgh 10 points to 3, but redeemed themselves with a satisfying win against the Borders 13 points to 5.
Edinburgh were beaten by Caledonia who beat Borders the previous week.
Glasgow had the best defensive record but struggled to capitalise on territory and possession in both games.
Happily 5 lads have been selcted from this squad to represent Scotland at U17 level:
lock Robert McAlpine The Glasgow Academy/ West of Scotland FC
Back row Cameron Orr Dumfries RFC
Back row Andrew Kirkland (Vice Captain) Greenock Wanderers RFC
Scrum Half Mark Clark Annan RFC
Stand Off Duncan Weir Cambuslang RFC
They are good players and it's to be hoped that the U17's will perform as well as last years' u17's (now U18's) who have just beaten England u18's.
Unfortunately none of the Dalziel lads made it but they all played in the district games:
Anton Mitchell Full back/wing
Callum McGarrity Centre/wing
John Harris Centre.
Better luck in the district and national selections next year lads.

Unlucky for the boys but from what I've seen they have a lot of talent and are still young so they should not feel disheartened. Just need to knuckle down and try and get in next year. Hopefully with the experience that John and Callum get in the near future with the 1sts it should stand them in good stead with their development. Also hopefully Anton can push for a place in the 1sts also.
