S1 NLC Schools Team

NLC's S1 team has just been announced following last week's trial.
13 out of the 18 selected are members of the Club's S1 squad, 10 of whom will be starting the 13 a-side game against SLC Schools (no wing forwards) on Wednesday 19th March 2008 at Hamilton Palace Grounds - 12pm kick off
Well done to the S1 Dragons!!

Why do they play 13 aside roddy? seems a bit mad...

Don't really know why as they play a full size pitch, in P7 they play 10 a side on a half pitch so it has been a big jump for the boys. Does give the backs a bit of room though!!
They move to 15 a side next year which shall be good for us as we have a big squad.
Hope you got tickets for your trip to Dublin - remember to behave and not drink anyone else's yard of ale!

They play 13 a side to encourage moving the ball to develop the scrum half stand off players no flankers less pressure

yeh, seems like a plan - but as roddy says, must be difficult with a load of guys in a squad!
no tickets yet for Ireland - but we'll hopefully get some when we're over there - or if all else fails watch it in the pub!

Hope you get tickets - the Dalziel boys should be upstairs at Bellamy's pre game, don't know who all is going though!! or where that is in relation to Croke Park..
