This Thursday the 7th will be the last training session for the S1's until after the October week. Returning to training on 21st Oct. with a home game against Allan Glens on the 24th.
There is an event coming up on the 14th on the new 3rd Generation Astroturf playing area in the old Revenscraig grounds there is an open invite to all S1 players. It is a good opportunity to advertise and promote Dalziel Rugby Club if we can get as many people to wear their Dalziel tops.
'On Thursday 14th October the Commonwealth Games Flag handover from Delhi to Glasgow will take place. To mark the occasion there will be a 'Commonwealth Games Flag Handover Ceremony' held at Ravenscraig RSF in Motherwell.
4 sports (including Rugby ) will be showcased at the event throughout the day. This is a fantastic opportunity for rugby in Lanarkshire to showcase itself to thousands of people attending the event. To this end we have produced a plan for the event as follows.
1.00 - 2.00pm : Mini Rugby Session/Coach Games
2.15 - 3.15pm : S1 Rugby Festival Session/ Coached Games
3.30 - 4.30pm : Lanarkshire S2 Development Squad Session
As this takes place during the school October break we appreciate there will be challenges for clubs to bring a full squad therefore we invite all clubs from across Lanarkshire to send as many Mini & S1 players/Squads along to take part in the event.
Please note: Throughout the day there will also be a come and try event for anyone interested and for all teams thinking they may not have enough numbers to participate in the festival please register whatever numbers you have and come along anyway, as all players are welcome on the day.'
Your Sincerely,
Iain Grant
