Pauls stag weekend

Post by khalidf » Fri May 30, 2008 10:47 am

Lads

Just booked my train ticket on the Virgin website (looked cheaper than Trainline). Bizzarly it worked out cheaper to come back first class at £23.50 rather than the cheap seats which were £29.50....... I therefore paid the extra £10 to go down first class as well rather than sit with the great unwashed!!

Train out at 6.25am on Sat 21st , coming back on Sunday leaving 17.28. Total £47!!

Go onto www.nationalrail.co.uk and its £27 return guys.

I have booked my tickets. You need to follow instructions on there and it takes you to virgin trains website, where you need to register as a user. Takes 2 mins and then the ticket prices come up for 13.50 each way. Pay online with your card and hay presto your all booked.

Outward journey its Sat 21st at 6.25am same as khalid, but the train back is the later time of 19.28 on the Sunday for the cheap tickets which gets us home by 10.38.

Any problems give me a shout.

Looks like the £13.50 ticket going out at 6.25am is sold out and only the £47 ticket is left!! Next train is at 8.26 and still has £13.50 so you'd better move fast lads!!

If I know where you are staying and I can get parked, I'll drive down on the Saturday morning. Room for 4 in the car. Assume two will be sumo and lowey that leaves two spaces. Anyone interested?

There are other ways to get on the 6.25 train guys if the 13.50 tickets are sold out, try other rail web sites or virgin trains directly. Need to be there for 10.30am on the Sat guys as the go-karting is booked for 11.00am with a bus picking us up from the hotel taking us to and from go-karting place included in the price.

Update

Post by barryts » Mon Jun 02, 2008 11:34 am

Hi Guys,

We are struggling to get hotels booked as the usual travel in/holiday inn/ travel lodge etc are all fully booked so think we will need to split up and get into smaller hotels which may cause some issues. Up to you and your room mate to sort this out guys.
Also the train down looks to be fully booked, but the way back at 19.28 from blackpool north is still ok at £13.50 so get that booked asap if you can.

We may have to find other ways of getting down on the Saturday morning for anyone who doesn't have a ticket for the 0625 train as we can't change the go-kart times and that is booked for 11am. Anyone having issues ring me or Vic and we will try and sort you out. May have to rent cars and leave the rental down at Blackpool, or if there are a few folk with same problem, rent a mini-bus and leave it there and get the train home with the rest on the sunday at 19.28. Let me know asap if you can't get a train ticket.

Rooms are as follows:

Paul Beer & Robin Hay - Yeah baby!
Brycie & Khalid
Barry & Sumo
Fitzsy & Simpo
Vic & Azzy
Decker & Broony
Dirty Mark & Andy McLaren
Grunter & ????(Think it was Crawford)
Jason & Jason's brother
Andy McMillan & ????(Think it was Lovey)
John Lowe & Maffie

Appologies if i have missed anyone, but that was off the top of my head as Brycie has the list.

Cheers

Barry

On the train front....there is a Virgin train at 7.10am from Glasgow Central still showing at £13.50, (this does not stop at Motherwell) and arrives an hour later than the 6.25am Motherwell train.......gets in about 10.30 so anyone taking this train could get a taxi straight to go-carting!!

Would have to get the 6.15 from Motherwell to Glasgow to make this train!!

Me & Sumo and Vic & Azzy are booked here as well guys.

Get booked up online asap so we can all be in the same place.

Cheers

Guys

Coordinating this affair is becoming a nightmare!

Can you all check the arrangements as detailed (fairly self explanatory layout - I hope) below and confirm that this is accurate and workable. If not, please leave a reply on the forum or give me a call!

Cheers,
Vic

Arrangement layout hasn't turned out well - extract from excel.

I'll sort in the morning and re-post.

I can only take 3 others in my motor - it's only a 4 seater :(

So you'll need to put one of my guys in another motor
