Dumfries sevens

Post by niall » Sat Apr 12, 2008 12:30 pm

I'm hopefully getting text updates from Fraser about today's sevens (i'm supposed to be doing project work...).

Squad: Fraser, Morgan, Lynchy, Paton, Scott Rogers, Lovey, Fuzzy Duguid and Barry Roberts.

They have Hawick Harlequins in the first game.

We were a bit unlucky, we were the only non borders team apart from GHA there, and it was obvious from the start that the borders clubs take 7's as seriously as rumour would have it, as those boys had clearly played it alot and train for such events.

We improved alot in the second game once we had realised roughly how your suppost to play 7's, and actually won the game but a dodgy ref decision declared the game a tie and we lost in sudden death extra time.

On a happier note, the Dalziel RFC front row union will be proud to hear that i was Dalziel top points scorer for the tournament, with a try and drop goal. nice.
