Fixtures 16th Feb

Post by RodHar » Mon Feb 11, 2008 9:33 pm

There are no fixtures set up for the teams this Saturday as far as I can see. Can anyone confirm if this is the case?

I know that there is currently no 1st XV fixture (confirmed by Tally Snr this morning), but maybe Davie can shed some light on anything he might have arranged?

edit: 2nds are at home to Cartha apparently and i thought you would know about the U18s game ;)

Unfortunately Whitecraigs cannot field a team, too many either in their 1sts or injured particularly their front row.

Is there any reason we are playing Hawks, or is it simply a friendly???

Its a friendly. Seemingly they are without 6 1st team including Gary which is a shame. i would imagine they would bring some young guys with them as well though.

are you sure its not the 2nd XV we're playing? Given that Hawks should have a cup game this weekend?

After speaking with big Gordy he said it was their 1sts. Who do they have in cup? if its an easy team they may play 2nds against them?

pity strainer isnae playin i was lookin fwd to tearing him a new one ;)

is it at home?

it looks like Hawick Linden Vs Langholm hasn't been played yet, thus Hawk's opponent for the cup 4th round hasn't been decided.

Slightly related point: is it not nuts that Langholm and Annan are in different Regional pots for the cup and there's only about 20mins of a drive between them, while we're hours away and in Annan's pot?? :?

Sorry game should still be on as Hawks have got a bye into the next round as both teams who were playing to meet them have been thrown out the cup...

edit by niall - split Roddy's previous post into a new thread here

From a very reliable source, the team from hawks will consist of;

Six 1st XV players
Nine 2nd XV players
Three players from GHK

So a bit of a mix and match. Should be interesting.

It doesnt really matter who they field in a time whether it's all 1st's, all 2nd's or a mix n match at the end of the day we are still gonna have 2 play them. Either way I would imagine its gonna be a tough afternoon for us. Not sayin we cnt win but even if their 2's were in our league I would imagine they would be sitting close to the top.

The bonus of the whole thing is that it gives Lee a chance to experiment with the squad and try a few things out whether it is young boys, new moves or players in new positions.

Just hope after getting off the loosing streak and gaining a bit of confidence from the past 2 games we do not fall 2 pieces and resort back 2 the type of displays we showed against Hillfoots.

aye all this goss is pretty pointless.

the team they put out will be top drawer and we have to front up.
