Was reading this on the SRU website and was thinking we could maybe put in an application to get the showers upgraded?

Worth a try at least

SRU Website wrote:CLUB FACILITIES FUNDING CONDITIONS
Clubs will need to submit an application form, with any associated paperwork that is also required. A full application form, with guidelines, is available to download from the Scottish Rugby website.

Funding Conditions
There are key criteria that need to be met for an award to be made. A full list is included in the application guidelines. In summary:

* Funding is available to maintain and improve club facilities.
* One application may be made per club in any 12 month period.
* A maximum of £2000 can be applied for per application.
* The sum applied for should be no more than 50% of the total project cost.
* A total of £60,000 is available for distribution to all clubs

Examples of suitable projects include (but are not limited to):
* Floodlighting
* New rugby posts
* Drainage or irrigation
* Ceiling, wall or floor upgrades or repairs
* Clubhouse improvements, e.g. kitchens or showers.
Would the said match funding be available to make it happen?
How far would £4,000 stretch? (assuming £2k from SRU and £2k from other sources)

Would this be enough to sort out the showers? I dunno what the nature of the problem is.

Are we even "allowed" to undertake the improvements? We don't own the facilities, so I'd imagine there'd be a process that needs to be gone through to gain permission to carry out the repairs.

If we've applied to this pot of funding before - what does experience tell us in terms of our likelyhood of success?? Quick bit of arithmetic says that only 30 clubs will be able to access the funding.

Gosh this is a long post !! :lol:

I'd say that from what's in that article it doesn't need to be for shower improvements.

Are there other things that folk think are more urgent?
