Have been slowly updating archive , mostly fixtures from 60's 70's 80's all from herald. Have added Glasgow Herald Reports on games , check out season 87-88 march April and see clubs run in winning Glasgow cup and the quality in the opposition. Have also put up if opposition were senior district or international players. It is slow going especially listing teamlists as it can take a while , so bear with me. Have a glance at our old games. Have inserted 'History of Player of the Year 'trophy into the archive part of website. Click on Club Archive (on main site) this opens another , then click on Austin Memorial and within that page click on List of award Winners. The history of trophy is there under 1970's . Jim Patterson told me the story and he was first recipient of Player Of The Year. Also the current trophy which is shaped like a rugby ball !!!!!! was made and donated by my dad's pal Adam Good. Have a look.

Hey Guys , Notn added too much recently , unfortuneately busy at work and cant skive as usual. Have added all results for 1st XV 1971 -1972 season , we won Lanarkshire Cup beating Drumpellier. Also handed out a few whippings Cambuslang twice , Hamilton and a few 40 50 pointers. Remember tries were only 3 points then. Could only see 3 defeats and one draw with rest all wins . So a good season for Dalziel. See you all at Austin.

Hey Guys , Have added results from season 1955-56 to 61-62. Also have a look a earliest years as have listed some results and teams that I have. 1st XV first game full team and report. Have a look and see if a relative played back then. Not able to update teams so players stats much same as takes a lot longer , as have to visit Heritage Centre and cant do that online. So bear with me on that aspect. Will be up at lunch tomorrow so if anyone has old programmes , clippings etc then bring them up and will add to website. Cheers Cammy

Hey Guys , Have added old results found mostly 1920's . Have a look also reports from Herald for some of the games. What I did notice is that there were at least 2 senior rugby teams in Motherwell area , as we have a game against a Wishaw team (High School FP) 1938. So have a look at the histoy our great club. Ayone with old programmes for any age group , could you please pass them to me as looking to get a Library of old programmes , fixture cards etc.

Guys , Have updated some old games 1986 Season and results for earlier years. I am looking for old programmes for any xv , mini , midi so can keep to make a library of memorabilia. Anyone at yesterdays game could they donate programme to club ie give to me please. Cheers cammy

Guys have put up a lot of early fixtures. 1947 - onwards . Have a look at 1952 Sevens when we won the first ever Witownshire 7's. As we were playing hamilton at w/e , have a look at result for game on 09/04/86 Dalziel ended game with only 12 players , but stil won 26 - 3 , and BIg Keith ran in 20 metres for a try. Have a look at our history guys . Remember any old programmes etc will be gladly accepted as looking to buid up a library of Dalziel. Cheers Cammy

Guys , Have added a few old photos , reports etc. Most kindly donated by Len Cocozza so years range from 1962 to 1974. Have a look at them also some press clippings. I have added some clippings from Motherwell Times from 1986/87. These are all in Photo Gallery album ' years gone bye' In fixture list have added a few results for 1937-38. Been a while since updated results etc Went to Heritage Centre today to get photos of match reports for Season 71/72 , these will be linked to games soon hopefully. Not got all year done yet. This list was in Motherwell Times Jan 72 , 1stXV P21 W 17 L 3 D1 F 436 A 161 with Brian Robertson scoring 22 tries and Dick MacLatchie scoring 126 points. Brian obviously was a scoring machine who would give later machines Westy(Colin) and Vic a run for their money. By 29/01/72 he had scored another 3 tries and also played for Glasgow Under23 and GDU with at least 1 try I have found. So that 29 tries up to feb some going. Note Brian brought a team/s over to Festival last year NI Civil Service and will be over this year. 2ndXV P18 W12 L 6 F215 Ag 220 having played a few 1stXV's in those games , 3rdXV P12 W4 L 7 D 1 F102 A 115 , note for Wee Davie , one game with only 12 players as 3 didnt turn up at Cleland ; so same problems then at times as have now with getting enough players out. 4thXV P4 W1 L3 I will update results over next few days and may need a help of older guys for some names etc Jim Patterson I will be emailing you , with a wee list soon. have a look at results for a very sucessfull year for club. Guys , Have uploaded match reports to games and also Squad Photo 1970/71 Games to which are linked are from Jan 71 to Jan 72 so covers a bit of season 70/71 and most of 71/72. Have a look at Squad Photo t see if can recognise anyone. Have a look

Have added more scores 1972/73 & 73/74. Not yet added match reports to games or photo gallery. All Dalziel 5 xv's won 3 weeks in a row. 72 /73 Dalziel won unfinished Glasgow League Div 3. 73/74 Dalziel won National League Division 5 West , first ever national league and on firtst day of legue posted the highest score 74 points v Craigielea. 2ndXv also won Glasgow League Division 2. Hey Guys , Have updated results etc found from early 70's up to 74/75. Season 73/74 un defeated league winners. Anniversary Dinner/Lunch maybe on cards as next season 40th years. Check out 08/02/75 David Leslie had just got his first cap for Scotland and next week played for Dundee against Dalziel. Also Hawick YM game 07/12/74 , 2 ex internationals played for then Suddon/ Jackson. Check it out. Have Micky McLarens debut for 1sts at a cold Lenzie. Entries for Billy Samuels , Harry Morton , Duncan Morton , Dick McLatchie , Keny Stewart. If got some spare time chek out results / anecdotes. Played HMS Neptune in Glasgow Cup Game at Helensburgh but no ref so one of their members refd - no whistle so he used a Kazoo ( if dont know what one is ask your mum dad) fron Woolies. Not found actual game for that gem yet. Great Club , Great History Check it out
