I won via arm bar 2 minutes into the first round. The guy lacked a bit on the ground and couldn't cope with my mad skills.

Doubt it.

I'll play with the 2s next two weeks but I can't come train as I've got another fight lined up for Cage Wars on the 15th of March at Braehead arena.

Also need to drop about a stone before it. :?

Here's the press release.
- Major Cage Fighting Event Planned for Braehead Arena -

The organizers of MAX Xtreme Fighting - which takes place on Saturday 15th March at the Braehead Arena, Glasgow - have brought together some of the top fighters in the world for what will be the most explosive MMA event to be hosted in Scotland to date. They are expecting around 3,000 people to attend.

There are a host of international fighters billed to attend from the USA, Europe and the UK. Ten Local fighters, including Glasgow favorite Andy Hillhouse who will face Northern Ireland Fighter Mo Gormley, James Doolan, John Cullen, Anthony Thompson, Graham Turner, and Alan Love all from Scotland will be facing excellent international Xtreme Fighters.

There has been a tremendous growth in interest in the sport since the Cage Wars team who are now behind the new MAX Xtreme Fighting brand first started running events in Scotland.

“MMA is a sport that had its origins in Brazil over 100 years ago when different styles of martial arts would compete against each other, thus the origination of the name mixed martial arts or Xtreme Fighting, there is nothing in combat sports that can even touch Xtreme Fighting for excitement and an adrenalin fueled night of sports entertainment” Said spokesman Jonny Burrows.

“There are now MMA tournaments in every country in the world and the sport is growing here in Scotland. It is hard to know exact figures but there are hundreds of clubs throughout Scotland and the UK now exclusively teaching MMA.

“It is a sport that has – largely through lack of understanding of the skill and history involved – been sensationalized in a way that has not been productive and we hope, through these events, which will be attended by a wide cross section of the public, that there will be a greater appreciation of what is involved.”

In the US MMA has a large celebrity following with George Clooney, Cindy Crawford and a cross-section of top US sportspeople regularly spotted in ringside seats.

One of the features of this sport is that the fights take place in an Octagon..an eight-sided ring, adding to the theatre of the show. The show will be filmed on the night for broadcast on the FIGHT Network.

The Brae Head show kicks off at 7.00pm with tickets on sales through ticketmaster on www.ticketmaster.co.uk. Further information and full fight card details at www.cagewars.co.uk.
