Season 2009/10

Post by Alan Thompson » Wed May 05, 2010 4:33 pm

FirstXV. Outstanding and at times awesome. Well done to the squad. Congratulations and best wishes for the future to both Jimmy and Lee.
Second XV. Fantastic. From a very hard fixture list to finish so high up the league is a tremendous result. Beating Currie there, is that the result of the season? Again well done to the troops and Mafie and Cammy.
The Dazzlers. The mighty Dazzlers, a terrific season complementing the results of the 1st and 2nd XV's. The two Davies did a great job there. I think Wee Davie needs a special mention for handling a difficult year superbly.
The Youth Section. Building year on year and the success of the senior squads can only help the process. Well done to all the players and coaches.
It has been a great year to be associated with Dalziel RFC and I look forward to it continuing next season. This is of course after we have the Youth Festival and end of year celebrations.
Thanks again, you've made an elderly ex president very happy.

"The Title Party" is a fitting moniker.

It has indeed been a season to remember, it's amazing just how clinical all the teams have become.

Jimmy told us how to use space and when we do that teams just cannae live with us.

Don't know if anyone noticed, but Orkney lost to Strathmore on Saturday. This means Dalziel are the only team in the Scottish Leagues to not lose a league game all season.

given the lack of recognition by the National Press and our own governing body, there are some good photos on the metro website!
