Clean Sweep as Dalziel Go Through in National Shield

Dalziel RFC had a clean sweep of four wins as the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Under 18s all posted victories on Saturday 6th February.

The 1st XV saw off Edinburgh University in the National Shield Round 1 by 32 points to 10. This tie being as a result of the 121 points to nil victory over Preston Lodge in the preliminary round.

The 2nd XV had a close encounter with GHA in their league match coming from 14 nil down to win by 26 points to 24 with GHA scoring a last minute converted try at Dalziel Park.

The 3rd XV had a bonus point win by 24 points to nil over Cartha at Bellshill whilst the Under 18s ran out winners by 72 points to nil in the National Bowl competition in the North Lanarkshire derby at Waysiders Drumpellier.

Another good week for Dalziel with some impressive performances all round as, hopefully, we get back to regular rugby following the recent weather problems.
