4 Star Performance from Dalziel

Post by Dalziel PostBot » Sat Oct 10, 2009 8:37 pm

Four teams played and four teams won this week with pretty emphatic results all round.

The 1st XV ran in 7 tries against Ellon in a 46 points to 8 win, keeping us 3 points clear at the top of National 1.

The 2nd XV also got a bonus point win 44 points to nil at Forresters in Edinburgh in a rough and tumble game that gets them back to winning ways.

The 3rd XV ran in a bucket of tries to beat Paisley 76 points to 5 in a game that was expertly refereed.

Under 18s chalked up their first win against Waysiders winning 33 points to 12.

Unfortunately North Lanarkshire Council let us down by not lining or cutting the pitch at Bellshill, or we would have had 5 teams out today. This situation will be looked at to make sure that we dont have this debacle in the future.

Expertly? You missed two excellent tries for simple and burnsy! :p

Though you can't be held responsible for paton fluffing sumo's kick through!

I couldnt see Simple grounding it and Burnsy was too quick for me. I did have to put up with there being 31 referees on the pitch, a pitch invasion by 4 guys from Hillfoots/Alloa, a prop from Paisley who spent all day complaining about the engagement process in the scrums, a guy who claimed he was raked in the face and a second row who told me that I missed something with every try that Dalziel scored.

I will not be refereeing ever again, it would drive me to drink.

Still sounds like you did a better job than our ref.

For what its worth i did think you had a good game, just could resist the dig :p

I think everyone on the touch line realised why you hadn't given simple's try.

I take full responsabillity for the debacle yesterday I have appologiesed to Hillfoots.
I extend that appology to all 3rd team players it should not have happened and i will be taking steps to ensure that it won't again.

Totally agree with what you said Gordon....Davy is doing a great job all on his own..Summo your`e right , some of us have to get off our backsides and give him a help.
The importance of the extra team playing cannot be understated , we are bucking the trend in Scottish rugby of clubs loosing players and teams ...having this will play a big part in any awards we get this season.

rally round guys it`s for the good of the club...jimmy

If only my auld maths teacher had been there on Saturday, he'd have been very proud of me.

I did all that adding up and not once did I reach for the calculator.

The celebrations from Simmo and Andy Hill were far too exuberant - what next backflips.

Cmon guys keep this exuberance going for Whitecraigs on Saturday! 8)
