Personal Insurance

Post by Dalziel PostBot » Tue Sep 22, 2009 4:07 pm

Members of Dalziel Rugby should be aware that the insurance policy in force regarding insurance is one that covers major incidents only (A major incident would be that of death or loss of limb). This is in force via the SRU. Players and non players are reminded that they should seek further private insurance cover to provide a safety net regarding incidents for example off-work / dental injuries etc.

As a matter of interest for the other guys, can you outline what it covers ?

the one i took was just to cover income for accidents and sickness, it covers u for up to 50% of your monthly earnings, the more u earn the more expensive it is obviously!

i got it cheaper though because i'm 21, the first quote he gave me was like £10 a month though so its not much different

dont think i'v got any dental cover with it, i wear a gumshield though so if anythin happens while iv got tht in il probs just sue the company i bought it from lol

Does it pay out right away or is there a period of being off work before it kicks in. I remember looking at something before and it took 6 months to kick in.

My conditions are pretty good anyway, so i'd prob not bother at the moment. If I was to work somewhere else i might get something like this in place though.

It'll be a lot higher than your premium though Goldielocks - cos I'm like 150 years old ;)

yeh, pity there's no cure for foot in mouth syndrome - which you and I both seem to be afflicted with

Felt this was worthwhile raising awareness once again re Insurance cover.
Anyone who has experience of getting their own individual cover like Goldie would be good if they could put their findings up on here.
