This was a match that Dalziel could have and should have won but in the end the team’s inexperience cost them dearly. Dalziel had won their opening three league matches whilst Berwick have had an indifferent start to their league campaign since their relegation from Premier 3 so it was with some hope that Dalziel made the long trip over the borders into Berwick looking for a victory to maintain their 100% record. Because of work commitments open side wing forward Blake Whitehead was not available and Andy Hill moved to back row with John Phillips making his first appearance of the season for Dalziel at second row.
