Post by Dalziel PostBot » Mon Feb 18, 2008 10:16 am

Dalziel came from behind to win this league match on the stroke of full time when Andy Hill\'s penalty kick saw Dalziel take the lead for the first time in this evenly contested match which again had only been arranged the previous Wednesday. This victory hoists Dalziel into the top half of the league and with three matches remaining a top four spot must be Dalziel\'s aim.

Home Debuts

Post by RodHar » Fri Feb 22, 2008 8:25 pm

Well done to the three U 18's making their home debuts in the 1st XV.
The two 16 year olds (Kris Watters and John Harris) and 17 year old Lee McWhinnie played in a great comeback against Langholm to edge a win. General comments mentioned things like all three did themselves proud and did not look out of place...not bad for such young lads. Lets hope that if they continue to get selected every so often, they will continue to do themselves justice.
The lads were welcomed and looked after by the rest of the squad making their game all the more enjoyable.

post bot,

by the SRU's calculation we are not in the top half of the table, we are 8th. But with 3 games left, and 8 points in it, 4th position is still attainable, all be it unrealistic (I dont see EK (currently 4th), losting all 3 fixtures, and Annan are only one point behind EK with 2 games in hand on us).

But you are correct we have to set stretching yet attainable targets, all we can do is win and leave the rest out of our hands. And really push for Murrayfield, that is the one target we really can achieve if we all work together to achieve this.

Commenting on what you said Rod, yes I thought the young lads done very well on saturday. All 3 have the potential and talent to do very well at this club, and deserve to get a chance to keep getting a game at this level for the rest of the season to become experienced and confident at this level, so they know what their up against next season.

the "Postbot" is an automatic user, its not actually controlled by anyone! So whenever an news item is put on the main site (by anyone with access), a corresponding thread is created here. Just so you know :)

I didn't write the match reports, I just put them online when I receive it on a Monday morning! So I don't modify the content. (The one that appears on the website, is the same one that is put into the Motherwell Times)

edit: I thought John Harris scored a penalty on Saturday...

I know you weren't, but other people have queried who the Postbot is, so I thought I should explain!
