Sad news of Alan Calder's death
The news of Alan's sudden death is devastating to all who knew him.
My thoughts are with Margaret, the children , Bill and the rest of the Calder and McClatchie clan.
His zest for life, family and sport was quite infectious which makes his passing all the more difficult to comprehend.
I remember him welcoming me to life at Dalziel High School in 1965 and we went on to play rugby together for many years.
Alan Calder was a true " Dalzielian".

Young and old have benefited from the passion and commitment that Alan brought to rugby. Both my sons were rocked by this news and both have enjoyed participating in the Youth Festival, one remembers being quite surprised that he even knew his first name, although this was typical of Alan. His genuine interest and camaraderie will be sorely missed from Dalziel.
